Bob McCroskey (class of 1965) and Rosa will be "retiring" from Indonesia in November.  We are completing our 36th year as missionaries here.  We have had a long and very rewarding career here.  With the 36 years spent here plus the 10 years growing up in the Philippines, nearly 3/4 of my life has been spent in tropical Asia.

We use the word "retirement" loosely.  We really are looking forward to just changing locales of ministry.  Our first year will be spent on the road in a final year of deputation.  Except for the months of June and July, the whole year is quite full.  We will be visiting old friends and making new ones.  We never know at this point what specific churches we will be visiting, but we just know the areas.  So, we are going to be holding services all over: Florida, North Carolina, Indiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Tennessee, California, Kansas and even Alaska.  Then, we will be retiring in the Oklahoma City area.  We are planning on staying very active in holding weekend services in surrounding churches.  Rosa has taught private piano lessons since she was a teenager and will work at building up a class of students there in Oklahoma.  Then, I am also hoping to teach at the college level.  I received a PhD in Islamic Studies from an evangelical seminary here in our home town of Yogya and am wanting to teach at several different Christian colleges there in the OKC area.  I have taught here at our Indonesian theological college for 30 years now and I am wondering how big of a change it will be from teaching Asians to teaching Westerners.

We haven't added any kids in the last 30 years, but we have added grandkids!  We now have 4 of them.  The latest additions were a set of identical twin boys who are into their terrific twos now.  Our son, wife and the 4 grandkids live in Florida about halfway between Tampa and Orlando.  Our daughter lives in Austin, Texas.
