I was promoted to Brigadier General July 31st, 2009. I am commanding the 104th Division (Leader Training) in the Army Reserves. We have the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) mission for the U.S. and Puerto Rico, which means I am responsible for providing adjunct faculty and trainers at college campuses all over the country as well as coordinating and training cadets each summer at Fort Lewis, WA and Fort Knox, KY. I have lots of opportunities to meet folks and to share my testimony. Just this weekend I shared with about 150 folks from around the country about going to Faith Academy and receiving an appointment to West Point thanks to the help of Coach Tine Hardeman and the great teachers I had. I run into Faith alumni as I travel (recently I saw Chrys Browne and Cindy (Moorhead) DeFoor in Raleigh, North Carolina. Aside from the Reserves (about 40% of my time), I direct a nonprofit that the Lord led me to launch in 2000 called First Cause. Learn more at www.firstcause.org or sign up to receive the weekly devotional I write at www.reveration.org. We are involved in Africa, India and Guatemala but would love to assist anyone who needs leadership development help in Asia. Kathleen and I are about to graduate our youngest from High School. Stephen (18) is trying to decide what college to attend. Sarah (21) is a junior at Seattle Pacific University and hopes to be a missionary in Latin America. Bryan (22) lives with us and works at a resort in Newberg, Oregon. I look forward someday to getting back to Faith to visit. I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing me to attend the best high school on the planet!
