January 2015 update

I trust your Christmas was full of family and fun and that your new year has gotten off to a good start.   We had a nasty flu that went through our household.  I ended up in bed for much of the Christmas season and I’m still struggling with a persistent cough.   I guess you could call it a forced ‘rest'.  Mayen has yet to take the Christmas down because she says she’s only now able to enjoy it.  But if you know my wife at all, you know she loves Christmas so it’s no surprise that she will hang on to it as long as possible.

January has seen a lot of activity after a lull period.  We have a new webisode series we’ve been asked to produce locally as well as videos for our local church.  We are also about to start dubbing one of our movies, ANG SUGO, into Bahasa for Indonesia.  The script for the Myanmar movie is finally finished and we are awaiting the translation so we can move forward.  The Nepal movie is still slated for airing on television and moves closer to that goal.  Nepal is a difficult country to put on a schedule which we understand now after working there for several months.  We have been asked to go back to Laos for another time of training in video production.  So 2015 looks to be shaping up as an exciting time of training, equipping young Christians as well as producing new evangelistic media to reach people with the Gospel.

We have also brought a young man into SWORD to help us in these new ventures.  This is in line with our goal to train the next generation of leaders.  Micah Fernandez is the son of a pastor here in Manila as well as a film school graduate.  His parents, Alberto and Gina Fernandez, were one of the couples that we had a part in leading to the Lord and discipling them in their new faith before Micah was born.  Micah’s mom, Gina, was the host of the television show, World of Women, that my parents produced for many years.  Gina loves my mom dearly and sees her as a ‘mother’ in the Lord.  Micah will be directing and producing many of the new projects we are initiating.  He’s newly married and we are excited to have this talented young man working with SWORD.

Thank you again for your prayers and faithful giving to this ministry.

Blessings,

Steve and Mayen Cadd
