“Faith Academy truly helped to shape me into the person that I have become today, I have great memories of my time at FA. I married Mark in 1985 after attending two years of nursing school at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. We still live in Birmingham and have three boys: Brad (23), Wes (20) and Trey (19). Our boys are in college now and Brad just married on June 20th. We have been very happy raising our children at a young age and now find ourselves becoming very happy empty nesters at a young age. Mark owns two restaurants with Chick-fil-A. I worked in the restaurants alongside of him until 2001 when we began to look at other business ventures for me to pursue for our family. We are very entrepreneur-driven and believe in diversifying our efforts. With my husband’s support, I became licensed in securities and went into financial services business, own- ing a business for 5 years. Due to some issues with my partner we looked for other avenues of business. We landed on a franchise called 1-800-Got-Junk? and now Dan Ambrosius, ‘82, and I are partners in this company which services Central Alabama in resi- dential and commercial junk removal. Our families have been friends for 20 years. We experienced a very sad spring of 2009. My father and hero, Barry Walker (Coach Walker) died unexpectedly on Feb. 6th of a heart attack. His legacy of loving kids for Jesus Christ has left a great impact on all of our lives. We miss him dearly and can’t wait to join him in heaven one day soon!”
