After having to leave the field quickly in 1980, I settled in
Springfield, Missouri. I finished high school and then earned my
Accounting/Management degree at the local university, now Missouri
State. I used my accounting degree as a bookkeeper at a credit union for
a few years then took a job in the editorial field at the Assemblies of
God national headquarters. I met my husband (Dan) there and married in
1996. We both still work at the AGHQ — I work in the Girls Ministries
Department in curriculum and product development. We have two daughters,
11 and 8, who are just starting to follow both of us in our love of
sports. We all participate in local 5 and 10Ks. We work with children’s
ministry in our local church promoting missions and in weekly
discipleship for girls and preschoolers. It’s great to think back to my
days at FA and the friends and teachers from that time. I love that it
created a lifelong passion for missions that I get to share with girls
and leaders of girls. I’ve loved getting to connect with many FA friends
on Facebook. I’m looking forward to our class’s 30th reunion in Dallas
this summer! Life is good. |
