Chris Wulliman ’90 “remains for the second year in his position as Program Coordinator for Samaritan's Purse relief operations in Darfur, Sudan. Although the widespread death and wholesale destruction of villages has mostly subsided in Darfur the situation remains tenuous and a real peace is elusive. Samaritan's Purse humanitarian operations continue to meet important and critical needs of affected populations in the name of Jesus. Our weapons here are not with words but with food deliveries, women's group trainings and the construction of emergency school classrooms among other activities. Currently over 60,000 people of our current caseload are being blockaded in the higher elevations of Jebel Marra as the government carries out its military operations against the rebel group occupying the area. I enjoy a few things about my existence here, but overall the reward will be in heaven.”
