Chris works for a USAID contractor called AECOM in Northern Sudan.

We specialize in conflict mitigation, community stabilization, support to
government capacity and peaceful coexistence mechanisms between groups formerly
in conflict-affected areas.  It is a difficult assignment due to the remote
nature of the work and the volume of requirements to keep things moving in a
grossly underdeveloped region of the country.  I manage quick impact small
size grants of up to $250k.  I love Sudan, however, I am due for a year in
civilization.  The best part of the job is to see communities receive a basic
component of life and the pay off of a lot of long hours at the electronic ball
and chain.
