Alex and Chris Kuhlow (Dorm Parents 1998-2008) continue to work full-time with the ministry of Threads of Hope, Inc. GROWTH is the operative word for the past few years. The new ministry center being built in the village (funded entirely from bracelet sales) will be dedicated in April, 2010. While Alex had already purchased 200 chairs for the congregation to use during church services, the pastor has requested that he purchase 200 more! Praise the Lord for that! The business has also grown. Threads of Hope now orders 100,000 bracelets per month from the people in the village. This enables more families to receive supplemental income in order to provide adequately for their needs. The ministry of Threads of hope is two-fold, so Alex and Chris are more evenly dividing their time between being in the Philippines, as a contact and support for the pastor and the people in the village; and spending time promoting Threads of Hope and selling bracelets at festivals in the states. Alex and Chris' kids, Ashley '05 and Joey '07 live in Wisconsin. Ashley has taught math at a Christian school for three years, will be going back to college fall of 2010, and getting mar- ried June 6, 2010. Ashley and her fiance both work with the high school youth group at their home church. Joey is working with cement repair, but it is a seasonal job that allowed him to return to the Philippines for two months in the winter of 2009-2010. He volunteered at Faith Academy through substitute teaching and assisting with Outdoor Education for the Middle School. Joey also works as a high school youth group leader at his home church. You can tell he is missing the Philippines, since he recently bought himself a python!”
