| Our Largest Visiting Team EverOn Valentine's Day, our largest group of visitors arrived from China. Four years ago, this team had a total of 20 high school students and teachers. The next year, the team grew to 30 people, then 50, then 80 -- and this year, there are 105 students and teachers spreading the love over their Lunar New Year holiday serving Filipino kids.
Team leader Liz Baker says that what the students enjoy most is bonding with the children in our communities. They are especially warmed by the fact that these kids, despite the many volunteers that come through our ministry, remember them specifically. She observes that these visits, much like other missions trips, end up blessing those who are serving in deeper ways than those who are being served. Cedric Gets AdoptedWe are happy to announce that our "miracle baby" is going to his forever-family! Cedric came to us as a sickly newborn who did not seem like he was going to make it through the first night. And now, at almost five-years-old, he is healthy, happy, and ready to grow up in a loving family in the US.
Edison Still Needs Your PrayersOver Christmas, with the support and love donors like you, we were able to help a boy named Edison who needed emergency brain surgery. We raised the exact amount needed for him to be released from the hospital in order to spend the holidays with his family.
However, the surgery performed in December was to remove fluid from his brain in order to stop the seizures he was suffering from. The doctors needed to do this in order to address the big problem, which is a brain tumor.
Pray for healing for Edison. Pray that he understands the love of God through this ordeal. Pray for wisdom from the doctors. And pray for continued provision for this little boy. |
